Bio
Fred Moon is a Managing Director at Hawkeye and is the head of acquisitions for Hawkeye’s senior housing fund platform. He is responsible for sourcing and executing investments, financing strategies and dispositions.
Most recently, Mr. Moon was a Senior Vice President at Belmont Village where he lead capital markets initiatives. He was responsible for the execution of finance, refinance and recapitalization strategies for the portfolio as well as managing and growing existing and future capital partnerships.
Mr. Moon was a Principal at Capitol Seniors Housing (CSH) where he sourced and executed seniors housing acquisitions, financings (including construction loans), and dispositions on behalf of multiple institutional capital partners. Over a 12-year period he closed over $3.5 billion across 80 transactions which included acquisitions, ground-up development financings, and dispositions. Additionally, 25 new lender relationships were forged during that time. He also negotiated joint venture terms between CSH and its institutional partners and negotiated all loan modifications and extensions with its lenders.
Prior to working with CSH, Mr. Moon co-founded Orion Student Housing, which acquired and repositioned 17 properties. Mr. Moon was also a Director of the Greenwich Group International where over an 11-year period he raised approximately $2.5 billion in equity, mezzanine financing and debt for residential, office, retail, self-storage and industrial/flex transactions. He specialized in recapitalization, joint venture structuring, refinancing and investment sales on a property, portfolio, and entity level.
Mr. Moon received his BBA with a concentration in Finance and Accounting from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and was a licensed broker in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.
