Trusten McArtor is Vice President of Investments at Hawkeye Partners, where he supports the firm’s acquisition and development activities. Over his career, he has been involved in more than $5 billion of real estate investment, development, and transaction activity across almost all major asset types, with a primary focus on residential and mixed-use projects.
Previously, Trusten was Senior Vice President at Weinreb Ventures Holdings, the investment company and family office of David Weinreb, co-founder and former CEO of Howard Hughes Holdings (NYSE: HHH). There, he led capital markets and strategic investment initiatives, focusing on investment strategy, capital structuring, and institutional partnerships across large-scale real estate and platform investments in the U.S. and internationally, while supporting broader development and advisory initiatives across real estate, hospitality, technology, and entertainment sectors.
Earlier in his career, Trusten was a Senior Analyst at Invitation Homes (NYSE: INVH), the largest single-family rental REIT in the U.S., with more than 100,000 homes nationwide and approximately $21 billion in assets under management at the time. At Invitation Homes, he helped launch the company’s Build-to-Rent platform. He also worked in development at Alliance Residential Company, one of the country’s largest residential developers, supporting projects from design through execution.
Trusten received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University and a Master of Business Administration from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University, both with concentrations in Finance and Real Estate. At SMU, he also served as an Associate for the Folsom Real Estate Impact Fund, a donor-backed evergreen investment vehicle focused on LP and preferred equity investments.
